I am a creative, compassionate, and dedicated teacher with 16 years of experience in the Film and Television Production Industry. In June 2011, I graduated from Brock University in the Technological Education Program specializing in Communications Technology. As a lifelong learner, I continue to enhance my craft by participating in professional development opportunities. I recently completed qualifications in Special Education Part 1 and Hospitality and Tourism gr. 9/10 and frequent technology related seminars.
As a Founder and President of Sonic Interactive Inc., a video post-production/ broadcast design company, I have a thorough technical and creative experience in TV production, multimedia, audio production and graphic design that will be an invaluable resource to the students in the Communications Technology Program. Sonic Interactive has produced and edited television commercials, television shows, documentaries, electronic billboards, radio commercials and award winning corporate videos. My greatest accomplishment was our DVD post-production work for world famous multi-platinum artist Sean Paul. Our production and post-production work has been seen on: MTV, Much Music, The Discovery Channel, YTV, HBO, W and CityTV. My teaching experiences have allowed me to formulate a program that addresses the diverse needs and abilities of students. I incorporate interactive multimedia presentations to create engaging units of study and vary assessments tools to accurately evaluate students’ strengths and needs. Through my LTO, practicum and volunteer experiences, I have learned the importance of working in collaboration with guidance, resource and administration in achieving success for all students.
I believe that my professional experience, excellent organizational skills and collegiality would be a positive asset to the teaching profession. I can provide fresh ideas and bring real-life experiences to the classroom and school.
